Problem
Imagine leaving a doctor’s office with instructions on a piece of paper, only to forget half of what you were told. Life gets busy, recovery steps are missed, and you’re left feeling uncertain about what to do next. During post-treatment care, this was the reality for many patients in Vietnam.
The system wasn’t working. Patients lost track of follow-ups, recovery plans fell apart, and doctors struggled to stay connected without tools to monitor progress. Care became fragmented, leaving both patients and doctors disconnected at critical moments.
Solution
I owned the design of the Zoop Care mobile app for end-users, aiming to make post-treatment care seamless by simplifying communication between patients and doctors. Another designer owned the web app for doctors and clinics, ensuring a complementary experience across platforms.
I began with in-depth research to uncover user motivations and barriers. Through interviews and the Jobs-to-be-Done framework, the team and I identified three key personas: caregivers managing family health, health advocates seeking premium services, and seasonal users with occasional needs.
I designed automated prompts to ensure patients never missed critical follow-ups, helping them stay on track with their recovery plans. Personalized health profiles simplified managing care for multiple family members, addressing the needs of caregivers. Real-time messaging connected patients directly to their doctors, creating a continuous line of communication and support.
To make healthcare feel inviting and accessible, I crafted a mobile design system with a soft, approachable aesthetic. Visual elements were to reduce cognitive stress, while UX writing ensured the app bridged communication gaps and making it feel relatable and clear for every type of users.
Throughout development, I collaborated with engineers to optimize backend integrations for performance and reliability. I also worked with the marketing team to support Care Day, a campaign that encouraged users to proactively book follow-ups, driving engagement and habit-building.
Impact
The results were transformative. Within six months, Zoop Care achieved a 70% user retention rate, a testament to how essential the app became for users managing their post-treatment care. Over 10,000 monthly active users engaged regularly, while the Care Day campaign alone facilitated more than 1,000 appointments in one month.
Zoop Care’s success went beyond its user base. The platform raised $4 million in Seed funding and earned recognition as one of Vietnam’s Top 100 SMEs by SME100® in 2020.
