Problem
During the height of COVID-19, healthcare access in Vietnam became dangerously limited. Overcrowded hospitals, unsafe wait times, and the fear of infection kept families from clinics, creating a deep sense of disconnection from care they had always trusted.
Existing telehealth tools were no better. They felt fragmented, impersonal, and unnecessarily complex—far from the dependable experience families were used to. For Vietnamese users, healthcare needed to feel simple, trusted, and as approachable as their family doctor.

Solution
As Design Lead, I led the design and launch of bewell, a telehealth platform that brought healthcare back into users’ hands. My role was to define the vision, guide the design team, and ensure every decision met the cultural and practical needs of Vietnamese families.
Through interviews and surveys, I uncovered recurring frustrations: families wanted guidance they could trust, apps they could navigate easily, and reassurance without the technical noise. These insights became the foundation for bewell: a platform that prioritized simplicity, care, and real impact.
The design focused on two core features: (1) telehealth consultations to connect users with doctors for guidance and (2) medication delivery to keep families safe and supported without clinic visits.
Early prototypes attempted too much at once, leaving users overwhelmed. I led the team to simplify the platform, creating an experience that was clear and focused, and easy to navigate. We also introduced the Care Angel, a virtual assistant providing tailored tips, reminders, and support to keep users proactive about their well-being.
To ensure the platform felt personal and comforting, I worked with the visual designers to craft a design system that reflected trust and warmth. A calming purple palette and rounded interface elements echoed the softness of care, while empathetic messaging resonated with users.
Impact
From August 2021 to February 2022, bewell changed how Vietnamese families approached healthcare. Over 10,000 users adopted healthier routines, while 1,200 telehealth consultations bridged the gap between safety and access. Retention rates hit 90% in the first three months, and user reviews reflected the platform’s success with a 4.9/5 rating on app stores.
The Care Angel became the heart of bewell, helping families take control of their health in a way that felt supportive, trusted, and personal.
