Problem

Imagine leaving a doctor’s office with a handwritten list of instructions and then forgetting half of what was said. For many patients in Vietnam, post-treatment care meant missing follow-ups, letting recovery plans slip, and feeling uncertain about their next steps.

The existing system was failing: patients lost track of their care while doctors struggled to monitor progress. This fragmentation left both sides disconnected during the critical recovery process.

My role

As the Product Designer at Zoop Care, I owned the design of the Zoop Care mobile app for end-users while another designer owned the web app for doctors, ensuring a consistent UX across platforms.

My focus was to make post-treatment care and communication between patients and doctors straightforward so patients received timely guidance without feeling overwhelmed. Collaborating with the PM, research and GTM teams, I conducted interviews, did competitive researches and used Jobs-to-be-Done framework to understand the diverse needs of our users.

What we built

IThrough interviews and the Jobs-to-be-Done framework, I identified three key personas: caregivers managing family health, health advocates seeking premium services, and seasonal users.

Zoop Care features automated prompts that remind patients of critical follow-ups, personalized health profiles that help manage care for multiple family members, and real-time messaging that establishes a continuous connection between users and their healthcare providers. To create an inviting and stress-free experience, I developed a mobile design system with a soft, calming colorsthat resonates with a wide range of users, from caregivers to occasional patients.

I collaborated with engineers to optimize backend integrations for performance and worked with the marketing team on Care Day, a campaign that encouraged users to proactively book follow-ups, driving engagement and habit-building.

Impact

Zoop Care achieved and maintained a 70% user retention rate, reflecting its growing importance in managing post-treatment care. Over 10,000 monthly active users engaged with the app, and the Care Day campaign facilitated more than 1,000 appointments in a single month.

The app's success went beyond its user base. It helped the company raise $4 million in Seed round and earned Zoop recognition as one of Vietnam’s Top 100 SMEs by SME100® in 2020.
