Challenges
For first-time investors, the stock market feels like a maze—complex, overwhelming, and filled with risk. Too much information, too little clarity. When I joined FiinGroup, a leader in financial data and analysis, they had a clear vision: make investing simple, approachable, and trustworthy for beginners. My role was to turn that vision into a product that users could navigate with confidence.
Solution
I started by talking to first-time investors. Their struggles were clear: complex tools built for experts, scattered information, and an overall feeling of “where do I even start?” Together with the Product Manager and Business Analysts, I set the foundation for the platform—simplify the experience, build trust, and make it personal.
I designed FiinTrade as a trading platform that replaced complexity with clarity.
Beginners didn’t have to drown in numbers anymore.
Information was introduced step by step to avoid overload.
Real-time, verified data gave them something to trust.
A widget-based dashboard allows them to personalize how they used it.
Over six months, I designed 800+ screens. I collaborated with Japanese advisors, developers, and early users to test and refine every design. When layouts still felt overwhelming during early feedback, I restructured the content and data presentation to make everything simpler. Light and dark themes ensured that charts and heatmaps worked seamlessly, day or night.
As the product grew, so did my role. After 8 months, I transitioned from the sole designer into building FiinGroup’s first design team, setting up workflows and principles to keep our standards high.
Impact
FiinTrade launched in July 2019. Within the first week, 1,200 beta users signed up. For many, FiinTrade was the first trading platform that felt approachable. Over the next three months, the product’s success led to 12 partnerships with financial institutions, validating the vision we started with.
For me, this was more than a project. FiinTrade marked a turning point in my career, as I transitioned from game design into UI/UX. I discovered my passion for creating products that solve real-world problems and empower people to take action.
