Overview
In November 2019, I joined ImmoScout24 as the sole Senior Product Designer in Vietnam, owning design of mobile apps for Swiss people. My work included designing iOS and Android apps, contributing to the design system, and experimented new features supporting users during COVID-19.
Process
ImmoScout24 simplifies house-hunting and provide from property search to mortgage management. Amidst the pandemic, the app needed to offer safe and efficient solutions for tenants while keeping the sales high for landlords.
Working remotely, I leveraged research from Swiss colleagues and Google Analytics to understand our Gen X and Gen Y user base. Their needs focused on accurate, up-to-date property information and a trustworthy platform offering a range of services. I led the design of key features, including property search with maps, distance calculation to frequent locations, virtual tours, and a revamped services page.
Outcome
The result was significant: a 78% user retention rate and a jump to #1 in Real Estate in App Store. My work on the design system reduced collaboration time by 16% and enhanced app flows. The time at ImmoScout24 taught me to adapt to remote collaboration, work in a clearer structure with both Vietnam and Swiss team, and care more about business aspects when facing with chaotic times like COVID-19.
